Air conditioners with a rated cooling capacity greater than 12 kW must be inspected every 5 years by a licensed air conditioning energy expert.
Before March 7, 2021, the inspection frequency depended on the rated cooling capacity.
Air conditioning systems that had to be inspected every 3 or 2 years under the old inspection frequency will also be subject to the 5-year inspection frequency.
New air conditioners with a rated cooling capacity of more than 12 kW must undergo an initial inspection, within 12 months of initial operation.
